STEM Professionals & Volunteers

Are you a doctor, mathematician, volunteer lake quality monitor, polymer chemist, boatbuilder, architect, marine biologist, bioinformatics specialist, or any other professional or retired professional who uses science, technology, engineering, or math in your field?

Mentors and role models guide students in transforming their interests into careers. We understand the importance of the human element in inspiring young people. Our STEM Guides bring their enthusiasm for science and connecting young people with great opportunities to our STEM Hubs.

From supervising formal internships to answering a few questions to reviewing a student project, the roles of STEM professionals are crucial to the development of exceptional skills, excitement, and accomplishment for students. We’re developing a directory of these Maine-based people who are interested in being resources for interested youth.

Drop us a line if you’re interested in connecting with students who may be the next generation in your field!

Also consider other opportunities to volunteer to share your science knowledge, such as Science Buddies.
